Visit by Claude Heath

The artist Claude Heath visited the college on Thursday last week, giving a lecture to the BA courses in the afternoon on his drawing practice. He also ran a workshop in 3-dimensional drawing at the University Computing Department, using an experimental 3-d drawing system, for interested students in the evening. Thanks due to Dr John Stell for facilitating this.
Students took part in a collaborative drawing which can be viewed at:

Public Art collaboration

Three students from the full-time Fine Art course wrapped part of the college in a giant Morrisons carrier bag on Tuesday as a protest against supermarket monopoly and environmental damage. Amy Ralston, Jayne Wilson and Gary Wilson were interviewed by local press and Yorkshire Post newspaper. The work forms part of their Fine Art Practices 2 module.

Fine Art Practices 1 workshop

1st year Part-time students used object and shadow as a starting point for a drawing workshop last week as part of the module Fine Art Practices 1.
