Upcoming Visitors to BA (Hons) Fine Art

This is to let you know about some exciting talks coming up form various visiting artists to the course over the next month or so:

- An artist's workshop on will take place on Wednesday, February 28th with the Little Artists, John Cake and Darren Neave. This is also open to Level 1 (Yr. 1 and 2) students to attend what promises to be an unmissable evening from these Britpop artists - 5.30pm, Room 155 Blenheim Walk. Put it in your diaries!

-The talk by the artist printmaker Stuart Harvey on his work on Wednesday 14th March, 5.30pm Rm. 155, is also highly recommended for all students to attend.

- The artist Claude Heath will be giving a talk on his work on Thursday, 22nd March at 1.00pm. in the Studio Lecture Theatre. Claude Heath is an internationally recognised artist who has had recent work in the John Moores 24 and has been artist-in-residence at the Henry Moore Institute. Highly recommended.

Collaborative Strategies Workshop






Full-time students took part in a collaborative strategies workshop as part of the module Fine Art Practices 2. The morning began with 'Human Kite Flying', a trust exercise involving picking up objects whie blindfolded, and some T'ai Chi. The afternoon had groups of students collaborating on a project using Polaroid cameras in the city.

Level 1 students from Full and Part-time showed work in the Fine Art Studios and had an opening event last week (Feb 1st). This coincided with the end of the Identity module for the part-time group and Fine Art and Social Context for the full-time students.

Liverpool Trip

There will be a trip to Liverpool on Friday, February 23rd, leaving college at 9.00am and returning by 5.00pm approx. The itinerary includes Liverpool Tate for the Chapman brothers show and John Armleder. Please contact Caroline Pratt as soon as possible to secure a place on the coach.
