11th International Contemporary Artists' Book Fair is on at The Parkinson Court, University of Leeds. March 7 & 8 from 11.00am to 6.00 pm. If you are into artist's books this is unmissable.

The Accumulator and Pool, Leeds International Pool

A major public art event will open on Friday 22 Feb at the Leeds
International Pool, St Paul's Street, LS1 4PH. Comprising 'The
Accumulator' by internationally renowned osa (Office for Subversive
Architecture) in the main pool, and 'Pool' by Leeds based Pippa Hale in
the small pool, the works present an opportunity to walk right into a
piece of Leeds' history, both in terms of visiting a landmark which is
soon to disappear, and experiencing a new wave of site specific
contemporary public art for the city.

Opening times 22 Feb - 23 March (Easter Sunday):
Thurs and Fri 12 noon - 6pm, Sat and Sun 12 noon - 4pm, closed Mon-Weds.

Prince's Drawing School Talk

The Prince's Drawing School will be coming to College on Tuesday 26th February to talk about their MA programme. The talk is at 3pm in the Studio Lecture Theatre.

ArtsTransPennine08

May 1998 saw the launch of artranspennine, a large scale, cross disciplinary exhibition with a £3 million pound budget. In 2003 artists Nick Crowe and Ian Rawlinson re-launched the exhibition ‘brand’ that had been left fallow for the previous five years with a fraction of the budget, just £553. The baton has now been passed on to artists Paul Harfleet and Hilary Jack to reinterpret the artranspennine “brand” from their own cultural perspective.

We would like to invite you to respond to artranspennine08.

There is no specific theme for artranspennine08. You are invited to make work which is sited at a location along the transpennine way which runs between Hull and Liverpool. The work can be of any media, an event or a performance. Responsibility for installation of works is yours. If you choose to accept this invitation, send your contact details to us at atp08@hotmail.co.uk and we will add your name to our list of participating artists on our website at www.atp08.blogspot.com. We will then inform you of deadlines for images and text for the website and the installation of work.

As the facilitators/curators of the show we will deal with press and publicity and have set up a website where images of your work along with your details will be posted. News and information about related events and activities will appear on this site along with details of a launch party which will be announced in early April.

Lecture by Northern Art Prize Winners - Monday 18 Feb at 2.00pm in Studio Theatre

Karen Guthrie + Nina Pope are the winners of the Northern Art Prize with Bata-ville: We Are Not Afraid Of The Future, a feature length film made in 2005 following former employees of the now closed UK Bata shoe factories in East Tilbury and Maryport on an organised coach party.

Nina Pope will give an illustrated talk about their work in the Studio Theatre at 2.00pm on Monday 18th February.
