Evening Access to Workshops

As you may remember at the end of last academic year we asked various workshops in the college to open in the evenings until 8.30 pm, on an experimental basis, following suggestions and comments brought up at Course Consultative Committees by student reps. This experiment was successful from the point-of-view of both students and staff. The scheme is being extended this year to cover all workshops in the college who should be able to offer at least an evening a week late opening, with technical support, throughout the year. Although we have not been able to finalise the list at the present moment in time, it is worth letting you know what is available now:

IT - late night opening until 8.30pm on Monday evenings -Blenheim Walk Mac Suite.

Print– is open late every night except Friday, drop-in subject to negotiation with workshop staff –Vernon St.

Clay/Plaster – is open for Drop-in until 6.30 starting on Monday 9th Oct.
Week 17 -20 Drop in until 8.30pm on Mondays
Week 32 -35 Drop in until 8.30pm on Mondays
Week 45-48 Drop in until 8.30pm on Mondays

As I am sure you will agree this represents a significant addition to evening provision for Part-time and Full-time students at the College and that having campaigning so strenuously for it you will be keen to use it to the full. Workshops will be monitoring student uptake. Further details of late opening for Wood and Metal will be published as soon as possible.
